  1. Your blog made me cry and realize how lucky my life is. You really have had a journey. I hope your story will make others think abour drug addiction and not only how it effects them but others and their sons. This had to be a hard one to write. I hope all is well with you and your son.

    Your son’s father was my daughter’s father – down to checking into rehab in a blazer, the roller coaster ride between successes and losses.
    I’ve come to realize that even 10 years later, it’s the hope that I mourn along with the man that I miss.
    Thank you for this beautiful homage to them – these gone addicts we loved.

  11. That was so deeply, deeply touching. My mother is a recovered alcoholic, and sometimes I still think about all those what-ifs. Having to lose someone before your story together feels over is the hardest thing I can imagine, my heart goes out to you.

  17. Absolutely beautiful writing. Thanks for sharing your story. My brother recently passed away, and it’s those “quiet hopes” I had for his future that make me the saddest. I appreciate the way you expressed that.

  23. Wow, it was hard to read this story. I am sure you have touched many hearts.you’re writing is great, maybe someday I can find the strength and have the talent to write as well as you. I was fortunate and didn’t get hooked up with my ex-husbands drug abuse.I ended up in a normal marriage; which I thank God for every day of my life.
